Design Rationale

Mindful Space is a meditation essentials gift box perfect for those who enjoy practicing yoga in their daily routine. The package includes a decorative metal cup, a brass holder, and two packs of incense sticks. The package consists of three colours: royal blue, sage green, and burnt orange. The sage green and burnt orange rectangle incense stick boxes are the same colour as the sticks inside. The user can place multiple sticks at once and the scent is meant to help them focus on the present and enjoy their yoga experience on a more personal level. The decision of the royal blue exterior box and interior stands is to resonate the feelings of calmness, tranquillity, and peace. The colour blue is meant to correlate with yoga and meditation. The intricate laser-cut design applied to the four sides is meant to play upon the idea of Mandela art. The laser-cut appears on four sides of the box and allows the user to have a peak of what is on the interior from the front, showing the shine of the gems on the decorative metal cup. The etched illustrations and text on the top and bottom sides illustrate the logo design, “How to Use” steps, barcode, QR code, country of production, product name, product description, and distribution date.

Overall, Mindful Space is a travel-sized meditation kit that you can take with you whenever you decide to go. It can be used as many times as you wish. The kit comes with a pack of 10 Dok Mode sticks (red) and 10 Lelawadee sticks (green). The user can hold the incense sticks in their hands when practicing mantras. The product will meet the customers’ needs by being useful objects that can hold incense sticks when one is busy meditating or doing yoga. Holding it in your hand while meditating will make the user feel more connected to their spiritual being as well. The kit will be sold for a low price of $40 for Canadian users across the GTA.
